When the device is locked onto satellites,  it will show "Rec." in Red at the bottom right corner of your Screen. Sometimes locking on to satellites can take a minute or so. So please allow at least a minute or so for the indicator to turn to "Rec."

A14. The interval setting determines how frequently we record your position, speed etc. By default the value is 3 second. Q-18 How do I select map to download?

A-18 There are two ways to download maps:

  1. Select from the chart catalog:

      • By State
      • By Coast Guard District
      • By region
  2. Search for maps:
    • You can search for charts by title or feature name. For e.g  if you are going to 'Neah bay' , simply search for Neah bay. It will show you a list of relevant charts. Once you download a chart of interest, we strongly suggest that you use "Show Nearby Charts" to complete your coverage.

Q-19 Do I need to manually switch to a new chart as I scroll across the map?

A-19 If there are charts of the same scale, covering a bigger area, the app would do the seamless mosaicing for  you. In other cases, you may have to manually switch charts for now. Our engineering team is working to make it easier.

      3. Manually select a latitude, longitude coordinate

In this mode you can enter the latitude-longitude coordinate of the way point (in degrees, degree-minute-second or degree-minute format).

Yes, all POIs are stored on the device. Searching for POIs in downloaded charts  does not require any internet connectivity.
